Stage 2 / Adjustment Features
Rebound
Controls the speed at which the shock absorber returns to its fully extended position after being compressed, keeping the wheels on the ground for maximum traction and reducing the recoil effect caused by the spring pressure pushing back after being compressed.
To use, turn the adjuster clockwise to slow down the rebound or turn counter-clockwise to speed up the rebound.
Preload
Available as a manual threaded adjuster or convenient remote hydraulic preload adjuster. Lets the rider fine-tune the initial force applied on the springs and precisely balance the weight distribution across the front and rear of the vehicle while setting up the ride height (sag) and to lower or raise the vehicle to adapt to various situations or to suit your personal preference.
To use, turn the preload adjustment ring clockwise (from top of the shock) to increase preload and raise the vehicle or turn counter-clockwise to reduce preload and lower the vehicle.

Stage 2 Elka Shock
An increase in handling on twisties

Elka Stage 2 Front Shocks
Fantastic upgrade. Worth every penny. Installed the shocks on Friday and tested them out of that Twisted Sisters Ride in Texas. This route has some of the best twisty roads in Texas. Its a about a 100 mile loop. I have done this ride on two wheels but I think I had more fun on my Spyder with the Elka Shocks and the BajaRon sway bar. I could confidently push the limits of the Spyder Rt on the curves and hairpin turns. Big upgrade over factor shocks. Great ride at 75 mph too.

Elka Stage 2 front shocks
I took my new Spyder on a 600 mile trip to Nebraska with some of the worst dippy pothole roads I have ever seen. I knew I needed some better suspenders and these Elka's made a tremendous improvement that I could tell right out of their parking lot. Well worth the $$$. Laser align also helped .

Elka front shocks
Excellent addition to my 2021 RTL. These along with the Baja Ron sway bar have tamed the issue I was having. This along with more seat time has convinced me I have not made the worst purchase in my life.

Stage 2 Elka Shocks (Front set) RT-LTD 2014-2020 ELKA-40298
Installed this set of Elka shocks after installing & running Spyder RT Bajaron “anti” Sway Bar with Blue links this spring. I can tell you this front set of Elka 2 shocks made my 2018 Spyder RTL handle corners and crowned roads now very stable with much more confidence. As a bonus I gained 5/8" more road clearance under my Spyderpops BumpSkid with LED'S NEXT GENERATION #SPY-147L! The original stock shocks felt like they were floating and unstable at times really freaking me out coming out of sharp corners and dips. They even allowed my bumpskid to bump uneven aprons at times which sucked big time. I run mostly loaded 2-up and at times pull a Freedom trailer so I really appreciate this Elka upgrade. Thank you Lamonster and John from Elka for the great video on the reasons along with installation. Great upgrade!

STAGE 2 ELKA SHOCKS (FRONT SET) 2020 RT
Please watch the "Elka Suspension For Your Can Am Spyder" video on the Lamonster site and listen to John's opening presentation (John from Elka). I do a lot of research on purchases and usually promotion videos are important to watch but not necessarily 100% accurate. But this one is. These shocks are the real deal. Night and day improvement over the standard shocks for all the reasons that John mentions. I am a motorcycle guy but getting older and had wanted a stable trike with good handling. I had heard good things about Spyders from Spyder Riders I knew and I purchased a 2020 RT as a result. I was expected solid handling from my 2020 RT when I purchased it, but was pretty dissappointed. Way too much up and down movement in the front end through turns. I just kept thinking to myself, doesn't BRP understand that this is not right? Of course, I had read a lot of reviews even before my purchase and knew that I would likely purchase both the BajaRon Sway Bar and Elka Stage 2 Shocks based on the reviews alone. But I wasn't prepared for how unstable I found the RT to be when I first started riding it. Most Spyder Riders told me that you get used to it and the transition from two wheels to a Spyder takes some time. I agree with that, but I still didn't like the way the Spyder handled. So, I first put on the BajaRon Sway Bar. This provided a good improvement. The bike's behavior through turns was much more predictable. The bike still pitched a bit more than I like through turns, but I didn't feel like I would be tossed off. So, now I could hold the speed through the turns with minimum discomfort. All in all, not bad. But it wasn't where I wanted to be. I wanted to be able to push the bike into a turn and press through the turn at constant speed without feeling the bike pitch. I wanted a flat feel through the entire curve and of course, very predicatable behavior through the turn (i.e. no surprises). The end of my driveway is about 100 feet from a stop sign. After I installed the Elka front shocks and rode out of my driveway to the stop sign at not more than 10 or 15mph, I knew I had what I wanted. That's how dramatic the difference was. Perfect balance. A real flat feel entering a turn. Confidence to push the bike through a turn. OK, so hard to say what the improvement would be without the Sway Bar. I can only speculate. Ultimately, I think you need both. That's a bit of money and some time to do the installatons yourself or take it to a Can Am shop to get it done. But it is definitely worth it. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the results. if you are coming into the Spyder world from two wheels, this is a must! And the Lamonster Team is great. Great info on the web site. They carry great stuff and they ship orders quickly. All good.

before and after
To give some history, I've ridden a 2 wheel motorcycle since a teenager and have over 300K on this type of machine, Honda's, Gold Wings and BMW's. Now retired and recovering from a rotator cuff surgery that didn't go as planned. Thus my purchasing a Spyder. The first 1000 miles were so different from what I was accustom to I thought I spent a ton of money on a machine that I didn't like riding or was sooo different. It was a challenge to wrap my head around the different dynamics of a Spyder verses a 2 wheel machine. I decided to cough up the cost of the Elka shocks to see if this would help out my ride. In shout it totally relaxed the ride. I was amazed how this helped settle out the difference in the dynamics of a 2 wheel and a 3 wheel machine. Very please with the purchase and would recommend them hands down.

Love these
With in one mile I could tell the new shocks are an improvement. After a 60 mile 1st ride after installing them, my wife and I could feel a great improvement in the ride as well as the handling. Well worth the money.
