Lamonster Garage® has been working exclusively with Centramatic in developing a wheel balancer for the Can Am® Spyder. This project has taken over a year with many prototype units and redesigns. When we first started the project there were a limited amount of wheels on the market for the Spyder. The first set we made worked great on some of the wheels, but not all of them. There were clearance issues with the caliper and taper of the back of the wheel. After we worked that out we had to determine the right amount of weight to add to the rings to get the best effect and to overcome a tire that needed a lot of weight to balance. It's not unusual for a Spyder tire to take 3 to 4 oz to balance out. I had two front tires on my F3 that had a bounce I couldn't get rid of. I could see it in my fenders and sometimes it shook so badly, I thought it was going to break my fender supports. After changing to new tires it was better but still had a shake and that was with 3.5 oz of weight. After getting the finished product a few months ago I was pleased to see the fenders no longer shook and the ride was smooth as glass. Both Joan and I have ridden many thousands of miles since then will great results.
The install on the front couldn't be easier. You simply jack up the front and remove the wheels. Next, you just slide the the balancer over the lug bolts with the ring facing out, making sure it's sitting flat on the hub. Install the wheel and torque to specification and that's it! These can be used over and over and swapped out from one Spyder to another if you change rides. It's important that you DO NOT remove the weights from your wheels before installing the balancer.

Centramatic update: We have a 100+ units out there now and I've learned some things from the company and from end users. Because this has been such a long process, there has been information that has been crossed between the different folks I've worked with on this project. One guy I'm dealing with now was able to school me better on how these work, what they can and can't do and what it will do for the Spyder.
First off, he's amazed that a "motorcycle tire" would need so much weight. When they deal with motorcycles they deal in grams not ounces. If they have a tire that needs more than an ounce, they replace the tire. Because of the limited space we have to work with the most product they can get in the Spyder ring is 3oz. If you have a wheel and tire that needs more than that, he recommends zero balancing the tire as best you can and then using the Centramatic as a dynamic balancer. This will compensate for tire wear and adjust as needed to a wheel that's not quite right. So we now recommend that you see how many weights you have on your wheel and if it's 3oz or more to leave the weights on.
What Centramatics won't do is compensate for an out of round tire, a bent rim or a hub or axle issue. It may even make it worse. I also found out today that they can only get 2.5oz in the ring for a 14" wheel so as bad as our tires are they have decided not to go forward with a kit for the 14" rim.
I still believe in the product, it solved a problem I couldn't get rid of and our Spyders run smooth as glass. This is not a magic ring that can defy physics but it will perform as advertised if your wheels and tires are within specs. If you have any questions feel free to call us at the shop and we'll be glad to work with you the best we can. We want you as happy as we are.
For the best results we recommend you use this balancer on all three wheels. You can run front only, and that's why we offer a full kit and a front kit, but I think you'll see after using these on the front of your Spyder you're going to want to use them on the rear, too. Our recommendation is to buy the full kit and install the rear when you change the rear tire. The wheel has to be removed to install the rear balancer. So unless you don't mind paying for the labor twice, this would be the most cost effective to do it. On the rear, you will remove the rear rotor and place the the balancer disk on the hub with the ring pointing to the inside on the wheel. Install the rotor on top of the disk and torque bolts to specification. That part of the job should take less than 5 minutes.
It's important that you DO NOT remove the weights from your wheels before installing the balancer.
This is a Lamonster approved product because we worked hand in hand with Centramatic providing them with everything needed to bring this product to market. We did the field testing with real world feedback and worked with them making changes as needed. We love bringing new products to the market for the Spyder and this is one product every Spyder can use to increase tire life and give you the smoothest ride possible. It's a one time investment that will last as long as you plan on riding your Spyder.

Centramatic Balancers
These work fantastic! Installed them along with a new set of tires just before going on a 5600 mile road trip on my F3 and they worked great! I mounted the tires myself. A good static balance along with the Centrimatics and the machine rode super smooth. Definitely worth it.

Front Centramatic Wheel Balancers for 2021 RTL
The front balancers would not fit the hub without using the die grinder on the center hole. approximate 1/16th inch to small a hole. Bolt pattern was correct. Rear balancer fit just fine. No issues with the last set on our 2020 RTL.

Wheel balancers
These are very nice to the point you quickly forget how lousy the ride used to be. If you can swing the price the smooth difference in ride is definitely better than you can imagine.

Lamonster Approved Wheel Balancers
I have a 2020 F3S and I noticed a very slight bounce in one of my front wheels. It seemed intermittent. Rather than have my wheels rebalanced I thought I would try Lamonsters wheel balancers. My spyder now is consistantly smooth as silk. At some point when I have my tail wheel off I'll install the tail wheel balancer. I highly recommend these balancers
