Stage 2 / Adjustment Features
Rebound
Controls the speed at which the shock absorber returns to its fully extended position after being compressed, keeping the wheels on the ground for maximum traction and reducing the recoil effect caused by the spring pressure pushing back after being compressed.
To use, turn the adjuster clockwise to slow down the rebound or turn counter-clockwise to speed up the rebound.
Preload
Available as a manual threaded adjuster or convenient remote hydraulic preload adjuster. Lets the rider fine-tune the initial force applied on the springs and precisely balance the weight distribution across the front and rear of the vehicle while setting up the ride height (sag) and to lower or raise the vehicle to adapt to various situations or to suit your personal preference.
To use, turn the preload adjustment ring clockwise (from top of the shock) to increase preload and raise the vehicle or turn counter-clockwise to reduce preload and lower the vehicle.

Elka Shocks
These shocks are amazing. Everybody says this should be the first modification you do to your Spyder, and they are absolutely correct! Wish we had put these on a lot earlier. Super easy install and the ride is so much better. I highly recommend these to anybody.

Elka front suspension
The Elka front suspension dramatically improved the Spyder handling. It eliminated the floating without making the ride harsh. It is an excellent upgrade.

Money well spent
I'm a bigger guy and when we ride 2 up I'm sure we're over the weight limit of the bike. The handling on my 18 F3-L isn't all that great. I added the Elka Stage 2 front shocks and it's literally a night and day difference. No more vibration in the handlebars, much flatter in curves, and just a true connected to the pavement feeling. I plan on getting the sway bars upgraded at some point, but these shocks are a nice easy install and deliver immediate performance. I haven't adjusted them from what the factory gave me and I probably won't. Install is a little tricky simply because you have to remove so much plastic and those stupid plastic clips, but once you figure out all of the clips to remove, it goes pretty quickly.

I just put them on & went for a 89 mile back road trip
Wow they made so much of a difference! I could feel so much control in corners. On the strait with high wind I felt like a bird it just floated in the wind guts I just held it straight it never went over 4 to 6" and it went right back to where it was it felt really safe>
