Product Description
Can Am Spyder 2014 - 2019 BumpSkid, FUNCTIONS AND INSTALLS THE SAME AS THE EARLIER YEARS, JUST NEW DESIGN CHANGE!
Dual purpose, functions as a bumper and skid plate with the look of a stylish spoiler. Your worries are over, no more expensive paint damage. No more dangerous evasive moves to miss roadkill or tire treads and if a live small critter jumps out in front of you, well you know.
Made from 3/8” black HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), tough and slick. Replaces that tiny skid plate that lets you tear up your body.
It attaches to the lower flexible area for impact absorption without damaging the body. Ground clearance is not a problem due to the thin profile. It protects everything from the nose to the suspension including the leading edge of the frame. There is no interference with servicing or cooling as it covers the bottom of the trunk area only!
The coverage eliminates air drag from the open cavity under the nose. Added down force is created by the spoiler styling.
Very easy to install with all hardware and instructions included.

protection
a good thing. simple installation.

Well made, mounts up solid.
I used my car ramps to do this but id did have to jack it a few more inches to fit the drill into a couple of the rear holes. Like some other users said add socket(s) to the rear holes so you don't hit a hose. Take your time and read the instructions and you'll be happy.

Peace of mind
Has already saved the front end several times

2016 RTL Bumpskid
Works as designed. Have heard it used a few times going over speed bumps and exiting onto streets where the gutter is a little deep.

BumpSkid Install Trick ...
Instructions stated that caution should be used in drilling two of the holes through the steel support as there are radiator hoses above this location. I simply dropped a deep-well socket over my drill bit to limit the depth of my drill bit. Install was easy but you will have to lift the front to your Spyder to make it easier. The previous owner had really scraped up the underside of his (now my) Spyder. The BumpSkid does a fine job of covering up the previous owners grindings. Great first Farkle on my 2015 RTL.

Bump Skid
I'm glad I have it on and I certainly know it's needed because the bottom of my 2014 RTs is all scraped up. It looks a bit wide but ok.

RT Bumpskid
easily installed in less than an hour. nut clips are tight and looks good, now I have to remember the front end is about 2 inches lower to keep from wearing it down too soon!!
