Stage 2 / Adjustment Features
Rebound
Controls the speed at which the shock absorber returns to its fully extended position after being compressed, keeping the wheels on the ground for maximum traction and reducing the recoil effect caused by the spring pressure pushing back after being compressed.
To use, turn the adjuster clockwise to slow down the rebound or turn counter-clockwise to speed up the rebound.
Preload
Available as a manual threaded adjuster or convenient remote hydraulic preload adjuster. Lets the rider fine-tune the initial force applied on the springs and precisely balance the weight distribution across the front and rear of the vehicle while setting up the ride height (sag) and to lower or raise the vehicle to adapt to various situations or to suit your personal preference.
To use, turn the preload adjustment ring clockwise (from top of the shock) to increase preload and raise the vehicle or turn counter-clockwise to reduce preload and lower the vehicle.

What a difference it makes
These shocks are top of the line and make a big difference in the way my RT-S handles, I already had added the B_ha_ R_n sway bar which made a great improvement and these Elka Shocks make the bike handle really great !!!

Elka Stage II Shocks
I installed these on my wife’s 2015 Spyder RT along with new Kendra Kanine front tires. We had installed a Baja Ron’s sway bar and links a while back. She claims her ride and handling are so much better. She says the steering is much “lighter” and she isn’t working as hard to steer. If she’s happy, I am thrilled. Great products.

Installed Friday, cross country ride Saturday
I installed front and rear stage 2 at the same time. Installation took about 3 hours for all three shocks. But keep in mind I have a helper, fully tooled up shop, jacks and air tools and lots of experience working in tight places. The initial test ride was just around town, the ride was subtlely different. However, the ride Saturday was FABULOUS. I had a grand ride, amazingly more control on the twisty bumpy country roads! I already had the heavy anti-sway bar and this addition was mind-blowing.

Elka Stage 2 shocks (2 front & 1 rear)
Well worth the investment! My stock shocks were well past their usefulness and the Elkas have my RT handling like it’s on rails just like I was told. Just point it into the curves and go, no more wig-wag on the bars. Also, highway ryding is greatly smoothed out. No more bang over and bottoming out on the bumps and potholes. Rode 700 miles home from Springfield on the interstate and my back was also really pleased with the new ryde.

Installed Friday, cross country ride Saturday
Around town after the installation, the change was subtle. Once I headed out on a twisty back road the change was STUNNING. I am thrilled with the improvement. I did front and rear at the same time. Total installation only took 3 hours. Contrary to the video, I did not have to take off more than the black plastic under the seat to get full access to the top of the rear shock. No side panels and certainly not the rear had to be removed. However, I have a lot of experience working in tight places and lots of tools.
